GWTR GROUP ORIGINS

​The group was formed in the early 1990s and became a formal member Group of the TR Register in 1995. It all started with a few TR owners, local to the Chichester and surrounding areas, meeting up and chatting at various classic car shows.

It soon became apparent there was a keen interest to establish a TR group in the region as there was a clear gap between the adjoining existing TR groups of the South Downs and Wessex. ​Soon the new Goodwood TR Group was created and a committee formed to help run it. Membership grew quickly ably helped following the inaugural GL's report in the TR Action in 1995.

​The original venue for monthly meets was at the Black Boy Inn Fishbourne followed by the Woolpack Fishborne which was promptly replaced by the Selsey Tram in Chichester. There GWTR remained for a few years, then moved breifly to the Jarvis hotel Chichester and then onto the George Inn at Eartham.
